Thanks for your kind response, Bill. Both grieving and excitement for new possibilities are real and natural emotions. More than a few years ago, I learned the we can feel more than one thing at the same time. I am looking forward to meeting you, and have enjoyed Karen's deep and up front spirit. You are right to discern that I invest deeply in relationships with people. I do. I look forward to being your family's pastor.

Thanks for this message. I appreciate that you are so up front with the emotions of your move. I think it speaks volumes about how much you care about your charge.

I'm finding that we are experiencing some of the same emotions, but on the flip side. We are sad to see Butch leave (but are thrilled that he gets to enjoy retirement!) and are experiencing the emotions that come with that loss. At the same time, we are very excited about you joining us at Old Mission and look toward that time with great anticipation.

Those opposing emotions can be confusing at times -- in the end it's good to experience both.
